The customer outsourced its requirements to Wipro because of its vast experience in project testing. Familiarity with SDL and native languages such as FORTH, for the Tektronix K1297, NetHawk and other such protocol analyzers provided the necessary impetus to work on such a requirement. With a common user interface, Wipro developed tools for the following purposes:
To convert test cases written in SDL, into languages native to the tools available for testing (Code generator) |
To edit test cases a Java based editor was customized to suit requirements. |
To perform configuration management for the test cases written. This web based tool helped store and retrieve test cases and store test logs generated. |
To perform offline analysis of logs generated by different protocol analyzers that monitored the A or Abis links, integrate the results and provide a graphical view of the progress of each call (message flows) and other related details. Timestamp differentials for each protocol analyzer were accounted for and it was possible, for example, to trace the message flow from the BTS to MSC. Call and connection traces were also available. |
This toolkit helped the customer's verification team optimize their testing plans and provided a user-friendly way to do so. Software designers also use this toolkit to perform designer testing during early stages of the product design life cycle. |
