The client
A Fortune 500 company, the client is the world’s largest producer of postage meters, mailing equipment and provides shipping and weighing systems. The company has a presence in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
 
The business challenge
To manage growing business needs, the organization had implemented SAP R/3 at USA and UK. However, other locations continued to use legacy systems. Our client wanted to reduce dependency on multiple technologies and migrate most applications to SAP. At the same time, it wanted to accomplish reduction in total cost of ownership for support and maintenance of its IT applications.
 
The solution

In this ongoing engagement, we partner with the client to provide SAP Application support and enhancement across USA and Canada. We are also executing various satellite projects to support the implementation of new business processes. Wipro supported 270+ applications across 19 technology platforms including SAP, Siebel, JD Edwards, BroadVision, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Application Integration, web and mainframe applications. This includes 24x7 support to mission critical applications.

Wipro also developed a special relationship tool for the project called PRISM, ensuring better control and visibility through transitional tracking and reporting against SLAs.

 
Business benefits
With a large component of the project offshore (latest at 71% offshore), the client has slashed total cost of ownership by more than 30%
Tickets reduced from 280/months to 220/months in a 10 months time, due to proactive monitoring, reusable tools and templates. Further, the team ensured 100% SLA compliance for L2 and L3 levels of support
Reduction in backlog of enhancements and bug fixes is in process, which will lead to improvement in productivity and process quality
