The key challenge was the tight project schedule within which it had to be delivered. The field errors had to be reduced to a great extent as the solution was for a customer of our customer. The requirements needed to be defined very clearly and there was a need for a scalable and reliable architecture and solution

Wipro conducted a study on the customer's current business information requirements, current process of getting that information and prepared a business case for a data warehousing and business intelligence solution.

We proposed the datawarehouse architecture to get right information at the right time to right personal from the data warehouse to address the current business issues monitor the key business indicators. This study also recommended the tools, which could be used for ETL, OLAP analysis and web based reporting.

Subsequent to the study, Operation data store (ODS) for Phase 1 was executed in short time of 10 weeks. Operational data store pulled data from the transportation management datamart and ORS and the target schema structure was designed using dimensional modeling for improved performance and easier query and reporting.

Front-end operational reports were created in Impromptu web reports. The data was aggregated and exported into the multi dimension database for analytical reports from the OLAP.
