IT due diligence of online brokerage firm for leading insurance firm

The Customer
The client is one of the largest financial services institutions in the United States. The company provides a range of insurance, investment management and other financial products and services and has more than 15 million individual and institutional customers in the United States and over 30 other countries.

The Challenge

The client wanted to expand into Europe in the online brokerage space. One of the restrictions was to do the same with minimum time to market. As a result of this, they decided to purchase an existing online brokerage firm with a significant client base in Europe.

The client engaged Wipro to conduct an IT Due Diligence Study of the Online Brokerage Application at one of Europe’s leading brokerage house on its behalf.

The Solution

Wipro’s role was to conduct the due diligence of the systems of the brokerage firm from the point of view of assessing the value of the same in the context of client’s desire for expansion into European markets.

The focus of the assessment was to assist the client in evaluating the application with respect to its existing functionality and also its ability and ease to accommodate:

Additional functionality that may be required
Additional countries/languages that the software may need to support
Additional organizations that it may need to interface with
Ease of maintenance
Ability to scale up to higher user and transaction loads
