We put forward a cost saving proposition to the customer, where our teams would support the applications offshore and provide maintenance support functions onsite.
By establishing a dedicated link facility of 56 KBPS with the customer's network, our offshore team can access the Mainframes on which the application development is executed. The project was undertaken in two phases.
In the first phase, our development team participated in the transition of applications at customer locations. Not only did this help them gather application -related knowledge, it assisted in their understanding of customer processes. The onsite team then transferred their knowledge to the offshore team, assisted by documentation received from the customer during the transition.
The second phase focused on the application support. i.e., resolving maintenance requests and new feature development. Critical and High priority maintenance requests are resolved onsite while low priority maintenance requests are handled offshore.
This combination based on our tried and tested methodology works efficiently to provide reliable, cost-effective maintenance support for our customer. |
