The solution was to build extensions on Oracle Applications to interface with EDI, third party software like Aqueduct & third party suppliers, which could be easily extended to other business organizations within Sony Electronics.
Wipro's involvement in this project includes:
Development and Testing of programs for the website including - interfaces between Oracle ERP and legacy systems |
Knowledge Acquisition and transition on existing systems |
Identify and fill gaps in technical documentation |
Take up enhancements and production support |
Wipro addressed the several business goals during KAP and Post Implementation Support for the system including: Inventory Information for each product along with on-hand quantities, ability to send PO with frequency current with production, handling functional acknowledgement for PO, ability to reconcile returns, credits & chargebacks, creation of revenue invoice, Reverse Logistics, etc.
The system enabled value added 3rd party products to the company's customers, while also generating revenue through direct to consumer channels (sonystyle.com and telesales) and 3rd party marketing programs. It helped them move close to a "no inventory" model. |
