Sanyo is the world’s leading manufacturer of rechargeable batteries. Headquartered in Japan, Sanyo has operations in North America, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific.

8 locations in 5 countries, with 3 languages (English, Taiwanese and Mandarin) were involved in inter-company transactions in the Asia Pacific. Each location followed their own business process model, capturing data differently in disparate AS400 legacy systems. The market is characterized by widely fluctuating demand cycles. Slow decision making meant Sanyo was unable to respond to changes in consumer demand quickly. This in turn led to cost inefficiencies across business units in the region.
